Garbage Power Generation Project Daily Processing 2,000 tons of Waste Commenced in Hefei Province of China

It is learned from the Hefei Circular Economy Demonstration Park Management Committee that the construction work of Hefei biomass power generation project located in the park with a total investment of nearly 120 million has been officially started last week. Once completed, it can use 2000 tons of garbage to generate electricity per day. It is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions of more than 200,000 tons.

Biomass power generation uses the biomass energy of biomass to produce electricity, it is a kind of renewable energy power generation, including agricultural and forestry waste direct combustion power generation, agricultural and forestry waste gasification power generation, waste incineration power generation, wastes landfill gas power generation, methane power generation. It is said that the the Hefei biomass power project is located in the north part of the circular park, the total investment is of 1.18 billion yuan, the project disposal capacity is 2000 tons / day and the construction will be divided into two tenders. It is mainly in the circular economy and resource recycling concept, to change the traditional waste disposal methods to generate electricity through waste incineration, landfill and other world top technologies.

The person in charge of the Hefei municipal solid waste incineration power generation of Hefei ThermoElectric Group introduced that the project was expected to reduce carbon emissions of about 213,000 tons, the energy saving effect is remarkable. Once the project finishes the United Nations registration and the transaction is completed, it is expected to achieve carbon emission reductions of more than 10 million yuan annually.
