Equipment Manufacturers Benefit From the New Standards to "Share The Cake" In Wind Farm Rebuilding

National standard "Wind Power System technical requirements" was drafted mainly by China EPRI and promulgated by the end of last year. It will be formally implemented from June 1 this year. In accordance with the requirements of this standard, there are about more than 30 million kilowatts of installed capacity of wind turbine will be needed in the rehabilitation.

Equipment manufacturers benefit from the new standard

It is made clear in the new wind power standard on the ride through capability of wind farms on the low voltage, so, when the standard came out, related equipment became the "hot demand". It is said that the transformation of low-voltage ride through capability is mainly related to the dynamic reactive power compensation, converters, controllers and other equipment. Major electrical equipment tender agencies received many similar tender requirements.

The market capacity of rebuilding is limited

Although the equipment manufacturers have high expectations on the wind farm rebuilding market, however, deputy director of National Energy Research Institute, Li Junfeng, holds that the market capacity is limited, by contrast, the newly built wind farm will remain the mainstream market.

According to a project leader of Beijing Guodian Engineering Tendering Co., Ltd., the recent bidding of a 50MW wind farm reactive power compensation equipment, the winner offer was 2.18 million yuan. At this calculation basis, 1MW reactive power compensation equipment is about 43000 yuan on average, so, the market capacity of the rebuilding of reactive power compensation device may be less than 500 million yuan.
