The Five Power Generation Groups to Increase the Layout of Clean Electricity - Wind Power Gains Attention

Last week, after Guodian Grouop's 2012 annual meeting, the five power generation groups have clear directions of focus for this year. It is found out from the Group's reports on the work this year that it is a very prominent year for the clean electricity in the projects newly put into production, and that all the five companies proposed clearer deployment of the Group's power transformation strategy.

It is learned from the reports that the installed wind power capacity of Guodian in 2011 has reached 12.26 million kilowatts, increased 3.31 million kilowatts, and the first marine intertidal demonstration wind farm as well as the first large scale low-speed wind farm have also been put into operation.

According to Huadian Group's annual report on the work, the commissioning of the wind power projects is also quite prominent. The company's projects in Ningxia Haiyuan, Gansu Huan County, and other million-kilowatt wind power bases have started construction, last year the wind power installed capacity exceeded 3 million kilowatts; DaTang Group's wind power projects in last year ranked #2 of all the projects put into operation by 1.7038 million kilowatts.

According to the financial data of the five groups published last year, the results have shown for-profit, but more than half of the Group's thermal power business lost. This year, the unfavorable situation is still very severe, the general manager of Huadian Group, Yun Gong-ming said in the report on its work that the first factor is that the macroeconomic caused the growth in electricity demand has slowed down, the second factor is that the increase in electricity price resulted in more intense competition in electricity. At the same time, the low water level operation of hydropower, the power rationing of wind electricity and other factors will also bring greater impacts on power generation increase.
