Largest PV Roof Of Beijing Began to Generate Electricity

On March 1, Beijing's largest photovoltaic rooftop power generation project - BOE 8.5 generation line 5-megawatt solar photovoltaic roof project completed construction and started generating electricity, more than 20,000 solar panels convert sunlight into electricity.

The photovoltaic project is located on the the main plant roofs of BOE's three 8.5 generation TFT-LCD production lines, with a total installed capacity of 5000 kilowatts and the designed life of 25 years, the average annual generation is of about 6 million KWh, an annual savings of 2400 tons of standard coal, the annual carbon dioxide emissions reduction is of 6240 tons, equivalent to 17 hectares of broad leaved forest.

An official of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission disclosed that in the first half of this year, the city would start the construction of a large number of new energy high-end use projects, including the Beijing Energy Badaling Solar 31 MW ground large-scale photovoltaic power generation project, the Changping 12.8 MW minerepair and governance solar photovoltaic power project, the Miyun 20 MW PV power plant project on ground, the sun campus PV roof project, Asuwei landfill gas power generation project (Phase II), Yanqing geothermal heating project in the west of the city, the total investment reaches 3 billion yuan.
