Food waste can "transform" into the tree-planting fertilizer? On the Tree Planting Day yesterday, the Chongqing Municipal Environmental Sanitation Group employees used this fertilizer to plant over 150 trees such as peach, loquat "tech trees" in the Hei Shizi Food Waste Treatment Plant in Cuntan Port.
The Hei Shizi Food Waste Treatment Plant of Chongqing Municipal Environmental Sanitation Group, recycles over 2000 tons of food waste a day in the main city, 1000 tons of which are processed here.
The person in charge of the garbage disposal plant said that the food waste are disposed through cogeneration, thermophilic anaerobic high-temperature heat treatment process, then converted into bio-diesel, CNG fuel, methane and other gases generated in the combustion process, which can be used to generate electricity.
The remaining residue left in the food waste after full combustion coagulum (ie, residue), can also be recycled. The person in charge said that after adding nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other trace elements in these coagulum and deep level of treatment, they can produce organic fertilizers to meet the national standard.
The residue can be used to produce organic fertilizer, which could be used to cultivate fruit trees. It can be used to breed the green, pollution-free fruits, of which the seedlings can clean up the environment, so as to maximize the food waste resources utilization.
