The project is designed of annual consumption of straw fuel about 23.0 × 104t, mainly from rice, rapeseed, wheat and other crop stalks of the surrounding counties in the 50km range.
Its construction would not only greatly reduce the environmental pollution generated by the original approach of the local agricultural waste, but also reduce the sulfur dioxide from coal-fired power plant pollution to the atmosphere, reducing the emission of fly ash, dust, and relieve Chibi supply load difficulties in promoting local economic development plays a positive role. According to media reports, on January 7, 2011 Wuhan Kaidi Investment Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with the local government on the biomass power plant project, which was officially settled in Liu Shanhu Town of Chibi County, Xianning City, Hubei Province. The estimated total investment was of 2.5 billion yuan. The project started in March 2011.
