Examination and Approval Of Nuclear Power Projects Not Started Yet

Yesterday, Qian Zhimin, a member of the CPPCC National Committee, Deputy Director of the National Energy Bureau, said that the companies were under rectification and improvement after the Nuclear Power Inspection, and the examination and approval of nuclear power projects wouldn't be carried out until they got the instructions from the State Department.

After the earthquake in Japan on March 11 last year, our government subsequently adjusted the nuclear power development safety program, and suspended the approval of nuclear power projects, including projects of which preparatory work were being carried out.

Qian Zhimin said that the nuclear security plan prepared by the National Energy Board was currently still in the process.
