It is reported that in 2010, the Gansu wind power equipment industry's industrial output value was of 20.229 billion yuan, industrial added value was of 8.869 billion yuan, accounting for 78.81% of the province's industrial added value of the equipment manufacturing industry. It provided strong driving force for the faster development of the province's equipment manufacturing industry. At the same time, the wind power industry drove the development of supporting industries of the province's wind power equipment, and provided possibility for industrial restructuring, optimizing and upgrading.
Zhouji Yao said that during the "12th Five-Year" period, Gansu equipment manufacturing industry will be focused on the oil drilling, coal mining and coal-chemical equipment, machine tools, equipment, and other traditional industries, as well as strategic emerging industries mainly on wind power equipment, nuclear power equipment, solar energy applications, smart grid equipment and marine engineering equipment, and the development of people's livelihood including safety emergency relief equipment, environmental equipment and equipment field.
