National People's Congress representative and the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) Chairman Wu Xin-xiong said on March 6th that the Chinese power industry is developing rapidly, the current installed capacity is of 1.06 billion kilowatts, ranking the second in the world, the annual power generation amounts to 4.8 trillion kwh, ranking first in the world.
Wu Xinxiong said when participating in deliberating the government work report by Jiangxi delegations, that the SERC would pay special attention to three pieces of key electric power supervision work, including the supervision work on the national energy development strategies; the improvement on the national power industry and sound market mechanism; the supervision work on the realization of open, fair, orderly competition development; to local economic and social science development and the good and fast development of good service.
He introduced that the State Electricity Regulatory Commission will do a good job of grid scientific control, make efforts to alleviate the economic development and electricity supply and demand; urge the power companies to speed up the process of construction of power projects, provide the basis of installed capacity for economic and social development; strive to promote the electricity reform, in particular, do high-level projects to develop the great potential of service for important users' direct purchase of electricity; to carry out a nationwide special regulatory actions to improve the quality of residential electricity supply, and make efforts for the security, rest assured, satisfied people, with the electricity good service.
